NEBAS 2022 SPRING LEAGUE

Posted by NEBAS League at Feb 1, 2022 3:41PM PST

Folks, here is information about Spring and Summer NEBAS.

First off, we are very proud and happy to announce that Cresskill Baseball will be the host of SUMMER NEBAS 2022. Cresskill will be sending out information in late February for the summer season which will start tentatively on Monday, June 13th.

Spring NEBAS registration is open NOW for anyone wishing to MAIL IN payments or pay by credit. Regardless of whether you are paying by check or credit card, we NEED the TOWN COMMITMENT FORM to be emailed back in Excel as we use the information on the form to set up the season for grouping similar level teams, scheduling, and coaches contact lists. The Town Commitment Form can be found under Documents.

Here is some quick info on SPRING NEBAS 2022.

REGISTRATION FEE & DEADLINE
Registration fee is $125.

Deadline for registration is Friday, March 18th. Deadline has been extended to Wednesday, March 23rd.

Check payments – Mail checks (payable to Closter Recreation) to: Closter Recreation, Po Box 143, Closter NJ 07624

Credit card payments – available on the NEBAS website.

SCHEDULE
The league is set up for games to be played ON Sundays unless both teams agree amicably to move the game to another day. The season will consist of 8 regular season games played on Sundays starting on Sunday, April 10th. With Easter on Sunday April 17th, a game will be SCHEDULED for that date with the expectation that no one will play or be expected to play but it needs to be made up before the end of the regular season. ALSO right around that time is spring break with many towns having different weeks off from school. Again, the same thing- a game will be scheduled to be played there with the expectation that some towns won’t have enough kids to play due to vacations. And lastly the last game of the regular season will be Memorial Day weekend. Again, games will be scheduled there but we are asking all towns to work with each other and get these games in on a mutually agreed upon day.

Game times on the schedule will ALL be posted on the website as TBA on Sundays and home teams will be responsible for scheduling the actual game time with their opponents.

Playoffs for the top four teams in each division will be on Sunday June 5th and 12th. Top two teams get individual and team trophies. Summer NEBAS starts the week of June 13th.

LEVELS
We will be offering the following levels:
• 8u coach pitch
• 8u kids pitch
• 9u
• 10u
• 11u
• 12u
• 13u
• 14u

All 8u-12u levels are played on 46×60 fields, no 50×70 levels in the spring or summer.
Historically, we do NOT have enough teams to offer 9/10u intermediate or 11/12u intermediate, so any combination level teams would be placed at the higher level, IE, you enter a team of 11 and 12u players, they would play in the 12u level.

PLAYER ELIGIBILITYAGE LIMITS
Please see Player Eligibility tab.

UMPIRES
Each team will have 4 home and 4 away games. The home team will supply and pay for umpires for their home games. For the spring, we recommend one umpire for 8u kids pitch-12u and 2 umpires for 13u and 14u.
The NEBAS board will send umpires to the semi-final and final playoff games, but both teams will split the fees for the umpire on the field.

RULES
Rules for SPRING NEBAS will be posted in early March for everyone’s review. There will not be a pre-season meeting, but everyone will receive all information via email prior to the season.

Any questions, please send me an email. PLEASE feel free to share this email with other towns AND if you are not the travel baseball contact person any more. PLEASE send this to them but let me know who has replaced you in this capacity.

Thank you,
Jim O

The NEBAS Fall League will start on Sunday, Sept 12th and continue through Sunday, October 31st. 8 game regular season. Top four teams will make the playoffs on November 7th and November 14th. Town and team trophies will be awarded to the top two teams. Registration ends on Wed, Sept 1st.

The NEBAS league is a SUNDAY only league. Due to the many fall sports programs that take place each year, we are OPEN to flexibility of moving games to be played during the week IF BOTH TEAMS are willing and able. (We also understand that many teams might not want to play on Sunday October 31st (Halloween).

Please note when grading your teams – we have changed the process. There are now only two options. “Weak/Average”, or “Strong/Average”. PLEASE grade your team appropriately. This should alleviate teams being placed in the wrong divisions playing against the wrong competition.

URGENT: REGISTER YOUR TEAMS CORRECTLY. The league level that you are entering your teams is based upon NEXT YEAR’S age cutoffs.
Summer 10u teams, become FALL 11u teams.
Summer 12u teams, become Fall 13u 50×70 teams
We are offering 50×70 ONLY for Summer 12u, Fall 13u teams.

The umpire fees are paid by the one team (every team will have 4 home and 4 away games) and umpires should be paid on the field. If any town needs to pay the umpire by voucher etc., please review this with the umpire assignors that you choose. This should NOT be a problem. The list of umpire assignors is available Nebas website.

Game times on the website will ALL be listed as TBA on Sundays and home teams will be responsible for scheduling the actual game time with their opponents.

Game results and standings will be updated weekly. This website can ONLY be as good as the information provided, so managers of winning teams, please send in game results immediately. 2021 SPRING NEBAS

Posted by NEBAS League at Jan 22, 2021 12:29PM PST

Folks, hope everyone is staying safe during these unprecedented times.

I wanted to just send out a quick email about Spring and Summer NEBAS.

First off, we are very proud and happy to announce that EMERSON BASEBALL will be the host of SUMMER NEBAS 2021. Emerson will be sending out information in late February for the summer season which will start tentatively on Monday, June 14th.

Spring NEBAS registration is open NOW for anyone wishing to MAIL IN payments. We are in the midst of setting up a platform on the NEBAS site that will accept credit card payments for fees (available mid-February).

Here is some quick info on SPRING NEBAS.

REGISTRATION FEE & DEADLINE
Registration fee is $125.

Deadline for registration is Friday, March 19th.

SCHEDULE
The league is set up for games to be played ON Sundays unless both teams agree amicably to move the game to another day. The season will consist of 8 regular season games played on Sundays starting on Sunday, April 11th. With Easter on Sunday April 4th, starting Spring NEBAS on Sunday March 28th involves way too much risk with bad weather and it is usually too damn cold to be playing baseball!!!

The season’s schedule will contain challenges as we recognize that the first weeks of games in April might coincide with some schools being off, and the last week of the season will be Sunday, May 30th, which is Memorial Day Weekend. We will work around both of these issues but there will be games SCHEDULED to be played on both weeks (we expect both weeks games might need to be moved and made up
at another date/time).

Game times on the schedule will ALL be posted on the website as TBA on Sundays and home teams will be responsible for scheduling the actual game time with their opponents.

Playoffs for the top four teams in each division will be on Sunday June 6th and 13th. Top two teams get individual and team trophies.

LEVELS
We will be offering the following levels:

  • 8u coach pitch
  • 8u kids pitch
  • 9u
  • 10u
  • 11u

  • 13u
